Family Group Conferencing
Family Group Conferencing is an effective process to empower families to take control of their future. A Family Group Conference is a special meeting of parents, children, extended family and caregivers.
Designed to prevent children from being taken into foster care, the family is assisted in creating a plan that will keep children with their extended families. This is done by ensuring the child is protected from harm and that the child's physical, emotional mental and spiritual needs are being considered. Alberta Child and Youth Services and the judicial system support and endorse the plan prior to implementation.
A trained McMan Facilitator works with the family to plan, implement and follow-up the Family Group Conference.

The Launch Pad - Transition Apartments
The Launch Pad is a five suite apartment complex that provides transitional housing for up to eight youths who are aging out of the foster care system or for youths who are homeless and require safe affordable housing. An Adult Resident Advisor lives on site to provide ongoing support and guidance to the youth in the areas of education, employment and living skills. Youth are eligible to reside at The Launch Pad for a maximum period of 18 months - at which time they will transition into the "real world" of renting and supporting themselves.
Youth Transitions to Adulthood
YTA provides housing and support services to youth between the ages of 15 and 22 who are involved with Children's Services and require assistance to develop the skills and responsibilities necessary to live independently.
Specialized individual supports are designed to provide young people with a range of educational skills, employment skills, and life/living skills. These abilities will help them prepare for adulthood as functioning, responsible, successful and independent members of their communities. The youth may share accommodations with a skilled adult mentor or may live individually as his or her own living environment within the community.
