HOME-BASED RESIDENT WORKERS
(Town of Brooks, and Medicine Hat, Alberta)
McMan Youth Services--Youth Transitions to Adulthood Program
is designed to provide a setting in which adolescents can
achieve normalized, successful independence. McMan is currently
seeking Home-Based Resident Workers. Successful applicants
will be positive role models for teens (between 15 – 21)
placed in your home, and will include
informal teaching of Life Skills. Tax free remuneration,
training and support provided.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and/or Post Secondary Education preferred.
- Interest in working with youth.
- Must have your own place of residence, with an available
bedroom for the teen.

DO YOU HAVE THE HEART TO FOSTER A CHILD?
McMan is looking for committed, caring adults who would like
to be foster parents on either a full-time or respite basis.
Qualifications Required:
Successful candidates must be 18 years of age
Able to provide a caring, safe and stable family environment
Willing and able to meet the spiritual, emotional, and cultural
needs of a child
To qualify for foster parenting, you will be required to
complete the following:
- Child Welfare Records Check
- Criminal Records Check
- Personal Assessment
- Medical Check
- 3 personal references
- 18 hours Pre-service Training
- Home Study
Financial Compensation:
Basic Maintenance:
Range is $20.18 - 32.09/child/
day - Basic rate - dependent on the child's age. This rate
is a per diem that covers all of the child's day to day
costs such as food, clothing, personal care items, general
household costs, etc.
Skill Fee:
$12.50/day - Level one
$25.00/day - Level two *must have two years
fostering experience plus additional training to
qualify. This is an additional per diem to
compensate the foster parents for their level of expertise
in caring for a child.
The rates are determined by the age of the
child and the level of training and experience the foster
parents acquire. (Please inquire for more information if
interested in becoming a foster family.)
